Delhi-NCR sees a marginalimprovement in its air quality after over 5 lakh litres of water were sprinkled at 13 pollution hotspots over the past two days. However, the level of pollution is still in the ‘poor’ category. On Monday morning, in Delhi’s Lodhi Road area, PM 2.5 was in ‘poor’ category at 201. The same condition prevailed in IIT Delhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport and Mathura Road. In the Chandni Chowk area, PM 2.5 was in the ‘very poor’ category at 328. ‘Ahimsa’ from U2 and A.R. Delhiites say that they have now become used to the poisonous air.
Meanwhile, in the past two days, the Delhi Fire Service has sprinkled more than 5 lakh litres of water at 13 pollution hotspots in Delhi. Among these are areas like Rohini, Dwarka, Okhla Phase-2, Punjabi Bagh, Anand Vihar, Vivek Vihar, Wazirpur, Jahangirpuri, R K Puram, Bawana, Narela, Mundka and Mayapuri. More than 400 fire-fighters and 25 fire tenders were employed in this operation organised on Saturday and Sunday.
