Lavin Gothi is a part of Mitu’s upcoming project Nishabd that will be aired on Atrangii. The show is based on LGBTQIA+ community. Lavin plays the role of Abhishek in Nishabd.
“I wasn’t apprehensive at all while doing this show because I trusted Mitu ma’am. When she had narrated the story, I liked it very much found the character challenging to perform. So, I was keen on doing it. Working with her and Positive Thinkerz team was simply amazing, like always. We have worked together before as well and I have a lot of respect for her and the way she believes in me and my work, which motivates makes me to give my best,” he says.
June is considered the pride month. And, Lavin feels this is the apt time for the series to release. He also shares that he was intrigued by Abhishek’s character and hopes people will like it too.
“Conversations around LGBTQIA+, same sex relationships should happen. Pyaar toh pyaar hain, aur love ki baat toh hoti rehni chahiye. Phir chahey Jisse bhi pyaar ho,” adds the actor.
A generational shift as far as content is concerned is been seen happening on the tube. This is probably the first time a series on the pride community is being made for TV. “It feels good and kudos to the channel and makers to give all stories a chance to be told,” he ends.
