The current selectors will choose the Indian team in October; 23-25 players can be selected due to Corona, coach Ravi Shastri will reach first

India and Australia, led by Virat Kohli, will have a four-Test series in November-December this year, while three ODIs will be played in January.

  • Jatin Paranjpe, Devang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh are completing 4 years as selectors on September 30, BCCI may give extension to them
  • Cricket Australia (CA) has prepared a bio-bubble blueprint for the tour of Team India and the Big Bash League, which will cost around 1606 crores.

The current selectors will choose the team in the second or third week of October for Team India’s tour of Australia later this year. The four-year term of the three selectors in the Senior Selection Committee is being completed on September 30. It consists of Devang Gandhi, Jatin Paranjpe and Sarandeep Singh. But instead of choosing new selectors in the current situation, BCCI can give them extensions.

According to the news agency, the Board of Cricket Advisory Committee of the three members headed by Madan Lal has not yet been asked for an interview to fill the positions of the three selectors. The source attached to the board said that it is true that the Board has not yet asked the CAC to choose new selectors.

BCCI’s focus on IPL

Currently, the entire focus of BCCI is on IPL. In such a situation, the Board also wants that the present selection committee should be given the responsibility of choosing the team for the tour of Australia at this time.

Chief Selector Prasad also got a 6-month extension.

A source attached to the board further revealed that the tenure of Chief Selectors MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda also ended in September 2019 itself. But the board also retained them till March this year. In such a situation, if Devang, Jatin and Sarandeep Singh are given extensions, then there is no mistake in this.

All of them have been in the selection committee for a long time and they know about the bench strength. In such a situation, their experience can be useful in choosing a better team. Then why not keep it till the England tour next year.

23-25 players to visit Australia
In view of the Corona infection, the BCCI may send 23–25 players on the tour to Australia in November – December. Pakistan and West Indies had recently sent the same number of players to the England tour. Having more players will not require calling the bowlers from outside for bowling on the net. If players playing on behalf of India-A team go on tour, then 4 days of first class matches will be played in Bio Secure Bubble.

Coach Shastri will go to Australia in late October

There is also a possibility that coach Ravi Shastri, players and some members of the support staff who are not part of the IPL. He will reach Australia in late October. The remaining players will arrive there in November after the IPL is over.

160 crore rupees will be spent on Bio Secure Bubble

Due to Corona, Cricket Australia (CA) has prepared a bio-bubble for Team India tour and Big Bash League. It will cost about 1606 crores. Team India has to play 4 Test and 3 ODI series from December on Australia tour.
